Times can be impressive for different reasons, and I hope these fast times don't dissuade anybody else from laying down their personal bests!
That being said, Benson's holding our Pantani award at the present, for sure.
Josh -- it would be cool if you could get Applegate to have a go at this. I'm sure we'll get a good effort from Darby next time he's in town.
Today, I rode the thing on my fixed gear, which is a 42x16, or fairly equal to a 34x13 if you're on a compact crank or a 39x15 on a regular crank, if any sucker wants to try it. I won't be doing that again without more of a base -- it felt dangerous to my knees and back even though I stayed out of the saddle. My time was 10:26:01.

CONGRATS ON THE TIME DUDE! Cool, that's the attitude we would like to see more of, help prop others up, regardless of their efforts, instead of inadvertently putting others down by comments centered around self. Do I think any wcu racers times including myself will be impressive NO (most of us are sprinters except Jay and he is still learning). I'm definitely no climber either. My rear end gets shelled in P/1/2 races with big climbs. I bet we can get Darby, but I doubt we'll see Applegate.

So I strapped on the DC's and put on my cargos and got ready for a real road ride on.......my MTB... I have to say it was a ton of fun dragging my 35lb STP with flat pedals up the hill but I figured it would be a start time, I might try the NRS out later. The one big negative was that I have to stand the ENTIRE time goin up. I'm using a 32 front chainring and a 11-21 cassette so I dont have huge climbing gear range but it works well here is a pic of the bike as she sits Name: Ryan Dunn Catagory: MTB Time: 11:07

Look this weekend at the multiple climbs in the Tour of Flanders (on Versus). The climbs are often >10% (parts of 18%), and look at the physique of the leaders powering up. I can assure you there will be no one under 155- 160 lbs, with Boonen, Cancellara, Hincapie way above that. I think the fastest time end of year will come from a heavier rider than 135 lbs , with lots of power (not me). After suffering in his wheel tonight , I feel that Yosh will probably improve on his time soon. Just picture Tom Boonen ahead of you, and think:" Koppeberg..must..stay..in..the..wheel..."

Anyone is welcome to do it! Yes, Troy is a local (well I think he is); I ride my bike with him in the Whittier ride. But it doesn't matter the faster times the better the event will be. I really would like to see Troy light up a good time. Wasn't he a Category 1 rider a few years ago and a well known solid climber? If so then he should produce a great time! Well good luck on the challenge, Clint!

Just kidding -- but you know you could climb that thing almost twice in the time it takes my 39 year old (40 in 08!) #@$ to get halfway up.
