Ted, will answer you here, in case anyone else is interested as well. FYI, the Monkey is sold as a frameset, so ... no such thing as 'stock' in this case. you can build it anyway you like. i chose good quality, middle of the road, with a few perks:
Ritchey: stem/WCS 31.8mm, 30mm rise riser bar/seatpost. black. *Surly SS disc hubset. 32 hole F&R. Salsa Delgado 29er rims. *WTB Motoraptor 2.1 (R) and Exiwolf 2.3 (F) tires. *TruVativ Stylo 1.1 GXP 175mm BB&crankset 32T. black. *Avid BB7 160mm disc brakes w/ FR-5 levers. SRAM PC-68 chain. Shimano MX and ACS freewheels, 18T and 20T. Cane Creek retainer ball style headset. *Surly Tuggnut chain tensioner/bottle opener. No pedals. Specialized saddle if you need one. You won't sit much on this bike. Black Oury grips. (shock absorbers).
i really don't want to sell it, but need to pare down the fleet to make room for the new arrival. once i post it on Ebay, i'll add a link, to view the photos.

Any photos you can post?
What type of fork is it sporting?
I will be up for a long weekend memorial day weekend. Would it be possible for me to take her for a test ride?
Would you be willing to break the payment into 2 payments? I am paid every other Thursday.
I'm highly interested in this bike as I will use it as commuter bike as well as mountain bike.
