Last night, 50 miles from here at the Carrier Park Mellowdrome, we probably had more riders from Jackson County represented in the fixed gear racing than ever before!
Will Dulaney, Jennifer Petosa, Tony, Paul Edmonds, and I all raced on an action-packed evening that sported three fields and 11 events. Will won the first race of the evening, pulling through the finish so fast that nobody in his field could come around! Coming off the couch, I placed second in my first race, but that was mainly due to smart wheel-sucking and choosing the right lead-out. I didn't sprint, and don't think I ever did last night. Paul sat in the back without breaking a sweat and observed everybody during that first race, and then he started to show his stuff later in the evening. After sweeping all three races in the C field two weeks earlier, he was the man to watch. In our point-a-lap race, he did get away for a couple of laps, and I expect we'll see more of that in the future.
On the off-week, next Wednesday, road bikes will race in the Rumble-on-the-River series. Hope to see some of you there!
Mike
