Just a quick winter challenge for any takers. Rode Cullowhee Mtn. today (yes today) 12-07, 40 degrees and rain. From the rec. center to the church up top in 42 minutes. I though it was good, maybe not? Any takers?

I ride up there regularly. I might suggest starting the clock at the long row of mail boxes just at the foot of the actual climb rather than starting back at the rec center. Gives some time to warm up and would match other people's personal timing on the climb.

Cullowhee mountain is a great hill to TT up. If you want to shoot for the record, the unofficial time is 24:30 by Darvey. He was probably drinking a mountain dew the whole way up too. My personal best is 24:50. I know there is somewhere on this message board that has several peoples times posted. If you look you should find it. These times are from where Josh stated: the bottom of the climb (there's a dirt road on the right with an old BBQ pit to the top (the house on your left once you make the 90 degree turn). Technically the church is on the downhill, not the up.

We should have a King of Cullowhee Mountain challenge. Once a year everyone should meet at the bottom and start at the same time. That way the conditions are equal. The winner will get a bottle of crown royal on me. The king needs a crown right?
