Attempted the loop I wanted to do for a long time today.
Started at the golf course on Conleys Ck. Up to the big Laurel and down the Franklin side (Leatherman Gap), then L on Goshen, with the idea to cross the ridge and connect with Greens Ck and back over Cove Ck to the north side of the Laurel climb. The only part unsure of was the end of Goshen. On google earth you see a wide ~50 yards power line track crossing the ridge. I was hoping for some trails. The road ends ~1/2 mile short of the ridge, in two driveways with a clear shot at the steep ridge. The steepness and the weeds stopped me. I wonder if doing the loop clockwise will let you descend the powerline track. Had to ride back in just under 4 hours . The spring on the Laurel is clean. I took me 5 bottles and 34/34 gearing on the 29'r.
