I need advice on preventing chain suck in muddy MTB conditions. I don't often actually jam the chain up front, but it does start to "back up" on itself and get slack, so that I have to give a little back pedal and then re-engage. It enrages me I won't be getting a new drive train anytime soon ,so if it that is part of the answer, we can skip that part. My instinct is to start with a clean chain and lube the heck out of it. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

Degrease the sucker. Mine sucked up all the time when i was lubed and degreased. If you dont clean anything else, clean the drive chain.
