Ouch. I have not tried the summer long-sleeve shirts, but I have read good reviews on them. I have switched to using the clear spray-on sunscreen the last few years. It does not drip and run and get all over everything. I literally coat all exposed skin and adjacent areas and never get burned. Neutrogena makes the best but CVS also has a much cheaper copy that works very well too. People make fun of my pasty color but I take it as a compliment considering how many hours per week I spend in the sun and hardly even tan, so the sunscreen works very well.
Soap box: Your skin tanning is a defense mechanism to protect itself from UVA and UVB rays. Skin cancer is one of the most preventable forms of disease out there. I can tell you from personal experience all the days as a youth in the sun with no shirt and no sunscreen that I was an idiot for not wearing sunscreen. If I could travel back in time I would walk up to myself and slap me in the face from day one of not wearing any. Of course that would create a paradox for my future, but I digress. My dermatologist has profited well from my younger naivety. Two cents worth...
