Has anybody done ORAMM? I'm considering signing up and looking for some advice.
I'm strong enough to handle the demands of the climbing, but not sure what kind of descending skills I need. I'm an Intermediate level at best. I've done all the loops at Tsali and most everything out at Bent Creek, including Green's Lick both up and down. But that's about the extent of my experience.
Is there anything on ORAMM that's gonna kill me? ;D

You should go pre-ride the Kitsuma trail in Black Mountain, that is the most difficult section of downhill and ORAMM goes over it twice. There are sections that you will want to walk down. Much, much more technical and steep than any of the trails you listed. Only a few short sections though. Most of ORAMM is on dirt roads however, so no too many technical down hills percentage wise. I did it a couple years ago and completely bonked. I had to stop to rest on the DOWNHILLS because I couldn't hold the brakes anymore.

I opted not to sign up not only because I'd like more time to work on my downhill skills, but it occurred to me that I need to build up to something this long... I haven't quite learned to adjust my thinking to how long it takes to ride a given distance at MTB average speeds instead of road bike. Heck, even adjusting to NC average road speeds from Ohio took months to get used to. I think I'll put it on my calendar for next year and build up towards it.
