Just thought I would let everyone know that if you are doing the Ring of Fire in the near future you may want to watch for the loose gravel on the road on the Tilley Creek Road descent. The loose gravel starts at the top of the descent and runs almost all of the way down. It stops right before that long straight descent with the barn on the right side at the bottom. There's some equipment there, so it should be pretty easy to see where the road clears up and is back to being asphalt. I was able to make it down safely, but had to descend at a much slower pace than normal. Just keep an eye out on the way down and don't push yourself.

Thanks for the heads up. Did they resurface it with the dreaded chip'n'seal?

Jay rode this ride yesterday and said the descent was terrible. He said "its pretty much not worth your time with this much trouble."

Thanks for the heads up. Did they resurface it with the dreaded chip'n'seal? No problem. Don't want somebody getting hurt out there. I think they are still in the process of resurfacing. I saw what looked like black tar lines all the way down the side of the road and, like I said, there's still equipment on the side of the road, so it seems that they aren't yet finished. As far as it not being worth your time goes, I'd have to somewhat agree. It was extremely annoying on the way down until we got to the smooth asphalt, but if you're really wanting to do the ride, it's still worth it.

Just got in from riding Tilley Creek. Road has smoothed out now and is about perfect. I was able to let it roll and hit 55mph on the way down. Had tons of fun!

Excellent. I flatted on it last weekend due to the gravel, so I stopped by the DOH maintenance office first thing Monday and asked them to send the big sweeper on Tilley Creek. They said they just got it out of the shop and would try and send it up this week. Woo-hoo!

Flatting on Tilley is never fun! Thanks for telling 'em to sweep the road!

Rode RoF today and there is still quite a bit of debris from the top of Tilley down to that switchback which is at the top of the second long climb coming up. It is clear from there down. Will call maintenance again tomorrow. No flat today though. Last time had to edge off road in a guys yard and bail out. Not fun!

Man, that would be little scary! Yea, I forgot to mention that there was a little bit of debris up there at the top, we had some wet mud/leaves on Friday.
