If anyone is interested in being a SAG vehicle for this year's Tour de Tuck, please let me know. We split the course up depending on the number of sags we have, usually two. SAGs patrol their sections with spare parts, extra water, first aid kit helping if needed along the way. They need to be able to carry multiple bikes to pick up anybody who needs it. Those who are done early usually reverse the course from Sylva to help in the Tuck and Little Canada sections as the ride is spread out at that time. We would greatly appreciate anyone who wants to do this.

I spread the word about the need for SAG for TdT this year to the guys in bike club. I know a good number of the club members will be volunteering, maybe they will want to drive.

I recommend volunteering to anyone. Although I have volunteered (I think 3yrs in a row...) I will not be able to volunteer this year and lucky if I get the chance to ride it (I doubt ATM). If you have rode this ride the past few years take a year off and just sag the ride. Holly and I did last year and it was a blast. Seeing the looks on people's faces on Charlies Creek is quite a site to see ;D
A little word of advice for those who ride; Even if your slightly stronger than someone save the breakaway (if needed) for late in this ride. The ride is so long and challenging that people left themselves stranded with 20 miles to go and just fail back to a few people on a normal basis. Don't blow yourself up on water-rock its not worth ruining your whole ride. ;D

I had fun supporting everyone through the endeavor. I forgot to set the odometer in the car, so I am unsure of how far I drove by the end of the day. Either way, it wasn't as hard as riding the route judging from the faces I saw.

Hey, thanks to whoever arranged a break in the 40 days & 40 nights of WNC rain - just long enough to ride 104 miles! And thanks to ALL the volunteers - in SAG vehicles and on corners and aid stations. I've never seen a friendlier and more helpful crew on an organized ride. outstanding!

I also want to thank everyone who helped make the Tour de Tuck a great success this year. There has been a lot of positive feedback, most of it relating to the volunteers and how great they were. Kudos to Ted for being an awesome SAG vehicle. I heard many people talking specifically about his great support. My only gripe was that Ted did not meet me on Charley's Creek to tow me up that kilometer-of-hell.

I've never seen Charlie's Creek, but from what I have heard, my car would struggle with it. I didn't want to over work her. I had trust in your riding skill though Scott. What was the time for the first finisher of the century route?

I understand. The fastest century time was 5:47:46. I have the totals for both and hope to get them on the web site tonight. Our power at home was off yesterday all afternoon until about 8:30PM, so I was not able to get them posted. The photo gallery is available. There are some great shots of everyone.
