With the time change occurring on 3/8/09, the first MM ride of the season will be on Tuesday 3/10/09. We should be OK for the 6PM departure time from the get-go. I look forward to seeing everyone come out for the ride!

I'm getting pumped about riding the tuesday rides once again. Finally after all of these attempts, I get to ride the ride once again. See you all there.

Anyone interested in moving this week's group ride to Wed night? It's not very nice out today, and I'm just not that hardcore. Comments?

Deb, Gibbs, and I braved the late season cold snow today for the Tuesday night ride. All day it was snowing on and off, but the roads were dry most of the day. At 5:30pm the sun was coming out and the wind had calmed down. 35 degrees. I looked at today's workout and glanced at the trainer, but thought better of trying to fit in my workout inside. Some tense moments ensued as I frantically located all the winter cycling gear that I had stashed deep in the closet. Wearing entirely too much, we set off for the shop and were pleased to find Gibbs willing to brave the weather before a work trip requiring several days off the bike. As we left the shop, the indications of improving weather disapeared as the snow picked up and continued to dump on us for the entire ride. Up near the post office there was 1-2 inches on the ground and the roads were totally soaked. We had snow built up on all surfaces facing forward as we impacted snow flake after snow flake. All indications were pointing towards the ride counting as epic, but we actually had a nice ride. It was surreal and different to ride through the falling snow, especially since 2 days before I was wearing shorts and short sleeves and was a little hot in our race in SC. My over-dressing turned out to be perfect and I stayed comfortable but with feet that were a bit chilly. I had this feeling like we were Andy Hampsten riding to the overall lead in the snow in the Giro that year that produced the famous photo of him riding in the snow. So, another day on the trainer avoided and looking forward to good weather over the next few days!
