Clint, We can do without the remarks, just post the event and a report. Nobody wants to hear any of the other stuff, OK? The training race is a great idea, and you are doing a great job getting it going. Rise above, buddy! I had a good time when I rode with you last, I would like to do it again. TC

I was in a bad bike wreck; in fact, I almost died. However, I didn't organize individuals nor put money in a pot for a winner. It is different from a MM ride because of the mention of money; however feeble your attempt to put legality aside, you can't. I'm just stating from an observation. My wreck is not related to this; so please, do not use it against me. Thanks P.S. I don't sit around and eat "junk food." I know you think I do; that's alright.

Some times you have to open your hand and let go.
Clint has an ego. So does 98% of the peloton. Big deal.
Everyone else seems to try and control Clint. That will never change anything. Try to work with him. It appears he has energy and ideas that is a good combination. I admit that bring up Teds wreck or Jacksons is not approiate. However Clint was trying to make a point. The other side of that coin is that you situation and the situations that could arise from a Thurs. night for money "race" are different.
Clint is trying to do something he thinks is good for the cycling community. He also seems to be dead set on doing it. The community has three choices Partcipate as is, Help, or leave it alone.
Yes, Clint could have been more comuncative to the community. He was not that is over and done with move on. Having your our personal wars will kill whatever community you have begun to build. Believe me I have seen it in San Fran, LA, Atl, and Asheville.
As to the event
I think it is a good idea. You need to practice crit skills. 90% of American racing is crits. They can be very safe if the riders respect the course.
I think that it is a little early to be doing race pace intervals. It is a long season.
I think that EGO is enough motivator for any ride. How many people sit on going into a sprint on a Tuesday night. Throwing money into the mix just takes it up a notch.
I also think that if you are concerned about it go to the ride. That way you can provide useful feedback. This could be a great thing. In California we had these type events in almost every business park Tuesday, wednesday and thursday night.

Everyone just needs to work with everyone. Not trying to call anyone out, but WE (club members/ex club members), including myself, need to learn to work with Clint. AND Clint as well needs to learn to work with us. Cyclists are very stubborn and egotistical people at least that is my developed perception based on my experiences with cyclists. We need to get over that if anything good and/or fun is ever going to happen without argument. Why don't we just ride our bikes? (I would hmm. but I'm a cold natured person, so I'd die. And school is slightly in the way sad.) We need to quit bad mouthing each other. Accidents are NOT leverage against others, these are very sensitive subjects, from broken toes to broken brains. Back to the crit to keep within the thread topic. Go ride, be safe, have fun. I may try to make it just to watch, maybe get some photos for you guys. Maybe meet some non-wcu students? maybe. I guess it's not going to snow either, so no wet pavement

We went out there to watch, and it was actually pretty cool. The guys gave a good run for it, and a good show. Now that i've gone out to see it, i dont really have a problem with it anymore, since money is not involved. I was wrong, I'll admit
be cool to see some of the local pros get out there... when it's warm of course.

What a training ride is all I can say…
The weather was blistering with wind gust of ~ 25mph, 29 degrees and feeling like ~ 15 according to weather.com but on your bike it felt like -10. We didn’t expect many people tonight once the weather took a turn for the worse so sure enough it was a low count night but probably one of the best training rides I have been on in a long time because we had so much fun and people really went at it.
For starters, we started out with the normal two lap mutual agreement of a warm-up pace. Once the warm-up was over it was Clint right from the gun. His attempt at a suicide breakaway early on went well for a few laps but was soon brought back by the mere tingle in his legs from the wind and cold air. Adam Heth went to the front and starting pulling but not hard enough to really hurt anyone just enough to keep everyone going in the cold weather. Before we knew it Holly was holding up the preme on the next lap sign. The pace then quickly picked up. Clint went early so early that they ignored him enough for him to sweep in without even sprinting. It was the usual Louis Brooks taking second and Chris taking 3rd. The pace quickly went to a slow pace. Then soon enough another preme sign came up but this time the outcome was much different. Clint and Chris came out side by side but sure enough Louis timed it to perfection and took a preme win. Preme number 3 quickly came up but this time someone had a plan that no one new about. Louis set Adam up to go off the front before the last turn. Adam went off the front everyone set on the wheel of Louis to only realize we were all set up to allow Adam an easy preme victory with Clint and Louis sprinting it out again but Clint got him with a throw down at the end but enough that it was easy to tell.
Oh man, now for the good stuff. After Louis set Adam up the two others (Clint and Chris) were not happy. They arranged a plan to breakaway from the others with 2.5 laps to go. The windy strait away was the place they picked to break away. Clint went first then was followed by Chris who quickly made a stunning pull through to allow Clint’s acceleration to stay constant. Louis tried to jump on to a wheel but was to late. The two riders looked back to realize Louis was stuck out in the wind all alone to slowly die. Adam didn’t attempt to get in so Louis finally fell back to him with Clint and Chris having ~ a 14sec lead. Clint and Chris won with ease and no need to sprint since they are separate categories and the final sprint in non-categorized. Then to finish up Adam beat Louis in the final sprint since he was so dead to give him a few extra points.
After talking with everyone after the ride no one could feel there feet. Everyone said there muscles could barely react in this cold weather.
Thanks to Holly for helping out. Also thanks to Nikki and Jackson for coming out to watch and cheer everyone on.

The Feb 17th date has been canceled. The last one was tonight. We all decided if only three people show on the most beautiful evening we have had in a long time what are the odds anyone will show on Feb17th. Well we had a great time riding. Just the time to set up for Holly isn't worth only three people showing up. Maybe it will happen again someday. Training Road Races are next for the collegiate team which should start next week. We will be having 2 of these which will probably take place on Caney Fork and Whittier. It would be nice to see some community riders come out and participate in them to really give the team some great tempo training before racing. We will post the event sometime soon. Also, for all of you who wonder this SN is used by more than one person. Rides/Updates/etc is available to racers of the WCU Bike Club who need to use it.

Well, being just a casual rider on a trike, there's no way I can beat Clint on a bike... so I just drag him to the ping-pong table, where I can easily give him a good thrashing!! ;D Everyone just needs to work with everyone. Not trying to call anyone out, but WE (club members/ex club members), including myself, need to learn to work with Clint. AND Clint as well needs to learn to work with us.
